Two Killed in Shooting at Henderson Ranch
In Jeff Davis County near Alpine two people died after a Sunday night shooting at the Henderson ranch. W C Farris, 76, was killed by three bullets from a .45 pistol, and his daughter Pearl Henderson died early Monday from a through-and-through wound from a .22 caliber rifle. Jett Davis county authorities detained J C Wimmy Henderson, husband of the slain woman, as investigators conducted a hearing led by Justice Raymond Garnett.

Two Pilot School Cadets Hurt In Plane Crash Near Base
Two aviation cadets were injured when a plane crashed about one mile north of the radio range, west of the pilot school, Monday night. The cadets named were Gordon K. Wahl of Los Angeles and Wm. B Wallace Jr. of Bellingham, Washington. The extent of their injuries was not announced by press time.

Accidental Gun Discharge Wounds Alpine Man
Berry Wilson a Border Patrol mechanic suffered a serious left arm wound when a rifle discharged while being taken from a car at his Alpine home after returning from a hunting trip. An attending physician said the wound could probably be saved as the hunting season opened.

Contributions total 4538 up to yesterday with more funds assured. Brewster county's quota of contributions put in to date had totaled 4830, Dr. Berkeley stated, from 500 to 1000 expected from the air base to be divided between Presidio and Brewster counties. He expressed appreciation to citizens, air base, Wae school personnel and workers for cooperation. Contributions still being received. donations may be left at the bank or with any committee member.

Pilot School Seeks Over Two Thousand for War Chest

Railway Express Agent Retires After 37 Years
After 37 years of service, W. Y. Henson, Railway Express Agency agent in Denison, retires this week.
