First Lt Geo Eugene Godsey, a former Alpine resident and Sul Ross student, was killed when his B 29 crashed on Guam on September 7. He served with the 30th Bombardment Squadron, 19th Bombardment group and was awarded the DFC and Air Medal with three clusters. His parents now reside at Monahans.
