Alpine Publishing Company issues the weekly Alpine Star Press in Brewster County Texas. The issue blends society notes, local humor, church and school notices, and community photos. It highlights residents, gatherings, veterans events, a Halloween minstrel show, and local editorials with ads and subscriptions.
Sunday School classes of Atte, JL Henderson and Miss Katherine Young were entertained by their teachers Saturday afternoon at the Henderson home. A number of games were played and refreshments were served.
The eighth grade entertained in assembly at the high school last Friday at 8 45 with two playlets. The work was commendable and townspeople are invited to attend the next regular assembly Friday morning November 15 presented by the seventh grade. Orene Roberts, absent from school for weeks after an appendicitis operation, was welcomed back to class by student friends.
