Alpine Archeology Meet Aims For 1896 Gathering
PORT DAVIS NOV 8 That the Texas Arcola and Palen late society will meet in Alpine in 1896 appears probable after the sixty annual meeting in Abilene last Saturday. Victor J. Smith of Alpine and Barry Scobee of Port Davis attended. The organization voted to meet in Tabock next year and consider Alpine for a two year peak when a Port Davis centennial celebration and museum interests align. About twenty attended a luncheon in Abilene, with a smaller afternoon session. The Yaqui Indian of Mexico and Lab Tech at College led the main program. One odd note mentions Aga Khan, Indian prince, who is weighed yearly and paid in gold, tipping the beam at about 200 pounds.
