Bucks and Horn High lessons in Alpine area sports and land talks
About two thousand dollars in notes and cash was loaned by Brewster county citizens to the Alpine Chamber of Commerce to secure a deed on Section 26 near the W T Burnham ranch in the Chisos Mountains State Park. The drive, led by J B Casner, aimed to place the title in the state parks board. The total debt reached 3840 dollars with the state agreeing to pay 1840 if the county raised the rest. A deer-hunting season opened with many openings on Brewster Jeff Davis county ranches and large tracts nearby. The Armistice Day program at Kokernot Park featured Alfred E Creigh on universal peace and the universal draft, stressing national preparedness and the goal to end profits from war.
