Rancher Injured Falling Against Power Saw at Alpine Ranch
Alpine rancher Joe Parker was seriously injured Monday afternoon when he stumbled and fell while drawing wood with a power saw on the Fergonson Parker ranch in the Glass Mountains. A deep eight to ten inch gash opened in his left arm and he lost much blood before medical aid arrived. He was flown to an El Paso hospital Wednesday afternoon with a serious but improving condition, accompanied by Dr W D Craddock.

Plans Near Complete For Red Cross Roll Call
Plans are near complete for the opening of the annual Red Cross Roll Call. Carl Shults, Roll Call chairman, said yesterday. Members for the soliciting committee will be named this weekend preparatory to starting their work on Armistice Day and closing on Thanksgiving Day. Mrs. Shulte urged strong citizen support, saying the need for funds to carry on the work is greater than ever.

Fall Movement of Livestock Starts
The Fall movement of livestock from the Bix Bend area begins with most cattle slated to go out this month. Twenty six cars of cattle were shipped via the Southern Pacific in October including two calf loads to LeGrand California one load to Henderson Kentucky two to El Paso two calf loads and one cow load to Morrison Illinois 21 mixed cattle to Texas and one cow load to Fort Worth and one calf load to El Paso. Over the Santa Fe shipments included three feeder calf cars from Casa Piedra two feeder calf cars from Perdit and four deck loads from Tinaja all bound for Illinois and Iowa feed lots. Ten cow cars were shipped via Santa Fe to J W Espy Fort Davis from Sterling City three double deck loads from Eldorado for Mr Allen head of Haley ranch and four double deck sheep from Barnhart to C. E. Grimmer at Hovey.

Big Bend Cowboys Released After Bandit Hold Up
