Open House At Pilot School Draws 2000 In Marfa Alpine Area
More than two thousand residents from Marfa Alpine and Big Bend communities attended the pilot school open house. Col Donald B Phillips led tours of the base facilities and a cadet graduation ceremony for class 43-1 highlighted the event. Lt Leonard L Cox spoke on bombing missions, and actors and notable guests included Robert Sterling and Ann Sothern. Army navy college tests announced for Nov 9 at Sul Ross.

PTA Carnival Nets $1100 At Main Street Event
The Parent Teachers Association Halloween Carnival on Main Avenue drew about 1100 dollars. A parade led to Granada Theatre where Edward King and Doris Vanney were crowned King and Queen. Rev Marvin Williams Methodist pastor will give the invitation and benediction and Lt Colonel Alton V Arnold commanding officer WAC Branch No 7 will present the letters of graduation. The public is invited.

George Lines Sells North Fifth Street Cafe to J A Cox
