Architect Named for Alpine Public Housing Plan
Gene P. Hobart of Weslaco has been appointed by Alpine Local Housing Authority to draw up 22 low rent houses and 28 elderly units. Neville Haynes said nine firms were interviewed and Hobart, with 750 plus public housing units completed in communities like Donna and San Antonio, is the most experienced. A total of 50 units are in application at Fort Worth for Public Housing Administration approval.

District 6-AA Adopts New Football Guidelines
The executive committee of District 6-AA met in Fort Stockton to adopt guidelines aimed at making high school football safer and more educational. The rules limit field access to authorized personnel, place law officers on both sides of the field, require teams to stay in restraining areas, seat bands in the stands, and enforce fencing and conduct codes during games.
