House Passes Park Land Bill For Big Bend Area
The House approved a measure to buy about 8 800 acres of privately owned land in the Big Bend National Park region. Funds totaling 880 000 dollars are available to the National Park Service, per Rep. Rainfall across the Davis Mountains and Big Bend region covered Alpine and surrounding ranches with inches of moisture. Alpine reports 1.25 inches, nearby ranches show 1 to 1.5 inches, and Fort Davis up to 0.77 inches.
