Marathon Club Plans Summer Meetings and Museum Idea
The Study Club met May 16 at 1 p.m. Mrs. George Hargus presided. Members discussed summer meetings on the second Wednesdays, a memorial medallion project, a museum with material gathering, and planned programs for next year. Ronald Reagan report on Business Ballots and Bureaus was read. Weather notes report recent rains and hail west of Marathon, with town cleanup of Post Office appreciated. Several local residents visited or traveled for graduations, business, or back to Alpine and San Antonio. The Marathon PTA held its final meeting of the year May 14, installing officers and funding a senior scholarship as part of year-end projects.
