Sul Ross College Announces Commencement and Exams
Final exams began yesterday and run through May 21 when the spring semester ends at Sul Ross College. Commencement exercises are set for 7 p.m. on Sunday May 18 at Jackson Field with Dr Bevington A Reed delivering the principal address.

Sul Ross State College Announces Summer Session Courses
SR Bulletin available lists two six week summer sessions starting June 2 and July 14 with late registration June 6 and July 18. Workshops include theater, reading, geology, physical education, and a summer science program. Over 1,000 students enrolled in each session.

Newell Wins Texas Tourist Award at Austin Conference
Alpine businessman W. John Newell received the governor's award for outstanding service to the Texas tourist industry at the 4th Annual Governor's Tourist Conference in Austin on May 13. Regents to Meet at Sul Ross Alpine for August Session
The State Senior College Board of Regents will convene at Sul Ross State College in Alpine for the summer meeting in August. After May votes in Austin, the board approved a $150000 bond issue for athletic facilities lighting and a track, plus a $275000 renovation of the Old Library Building.
