Denver meeting unites cattlemen to press railroad relief
Hon W W Turney reports from Denver where a broad coalition of cattle associations formed the Interstate Cattle Growers' Association. Turney, Texas Cattle Growers' president, named first president and outlined a plan to pressure railroads for faster, cheaper shipments and timely car supply.

Rules and Regulations Adopted by School Board
The board resolves to require each public school teacher to discipline students in their room with a switch no longer than three feet and only on the body below the shoulders. Rebellious or disrespectful pupils, age ten or older, must be reported to the board, with equal treatment for all pupils. A pupil misbehaving or hindering the school will be reported. If a pupil is reported repeatedly, the board will notify parents and may expel the pupil for the remainder of the term. Teachers failing to comply may be removed. The resolutions are to be printed and posted in every room.
Commissioners Court approves 10 cent school tax in Boquillas
The regular quarterly term saw all district No. 2 voters approve a ten cent school tax. The court reviewed and approved Tax Collector and Treasurer reports. Citizens urged removing railroad stockpens and refu se dumping near Alpine depot, referred to railroad officials. Local option election ordered for Marathon precinct on June 6. The four day term concluded with adjournment.
