Walter Graef 64 Die of Heart Attack in Alpine Funeral Held
Walter Graef died at his East Alpine home after a heart attack Saturday morning. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. at First Christian church with Rev. Austin Hollingsworth officiating. He served in World War I and is survived by his widow, mother, four brothers, three sisters, a half sister, and other relatives. Interment followed at Elm Grove Cemetery.

L H Osborne Aged Mining Prospector Dies After Illness
L H Osborne aged 82, a retired mining prospector, died Friday after extended illness. Born February 28 1872 in Ellijay Georgia he prospected in the United States South America and Alaska claiming two strikes. Survived by daughter Mrs Penn Watson Jr of Aurora New York a brother Polk Osborne of Pampa two sisters at White Deer and Houston and a Midland niece. Burial planned in Pampa with parents also buried there.

3-D Pictures Planned At Lobo Drive-In
Fred Jack who runs the Granada and Lobo theatres travels to Dallas to arrange 3-D pictures for the Lobo Drive-In and to buy stereophonic sound and Cinemascope equipment for the Granada. He also plans Tivoli theatre opening with The Glenn Miller Story Creature From Black Lagoon Beachhead Ride Clear of Diablo and other big releases.

Former Alpine Resident Chonita Hernandez Dies in Marfa
Mrs. Chonita Hernandez, 34, of Maria and formerly of Alpine, died last Saturday at a local hospital. Born January 7, 1920, she attended Alpine High School before marriage and lived in Marfa for years. Funeral services were held at Our Lady of Peace Church then burial in the local cemetery. Survivors include husband Opis Hernandez, three children Mecca Gilda and Louis, her parents, four sisters and a brother.

Delegates From Wide Area To Attend Texas Parents Conference
District conference plans are set for next Thursday and Friday with the Board of Managers meeting Wednesday afternoon in Sul Ross College Lawrence hall. A Wednesday banquet by Central P T A and Alpine High P T A follows, and early-arriving delegates will enjoy a coffee at the Home-Ee building. The conference opens Thursday morning with registration in the Fine Arts building, the Sul Ross brass ensemble, and a program led by Mrs. L P Shafer. Activities include a Lions club minstrel at the high school auditorium and speeches by Dr. Bryan Wildenthal and Mayor John Gillett under the theme Concerted Action Richer Dividends For Every Child.

Pierce Sponsors Judging Contest
Don York led the sheep judging contest sponsored by Miles Pierce at the Pierce Atuda ranch east of Alpine last Thursday with 473 points. Sul Ross Clip & Brand club members judged 10 classes of four sheep each, as Pierce awarded $100 in prizes plus a rotating trophy and a smaller trophy. J T Bell, Fresno State, topped the adult division with 478 points and donated $6 to the Clip and Brand club.
