Chinchilla Prices Soar From 1923 Peak to 16000 Per Pair
Prices for chinchillas have dropped to about 16000 per pair from 32000 at the 1923 peak when M F Chapman brought the first animals to Salt Lake City Utah. Anonymous inquiries about raising chinchillas persist while the high price remains the first hurdle. The passage also notes the Lion's Mouth, a Venetian chamber where the Great Council received anonymous accusations.
