A June 11 1937 Avalanche item recounts a $750000 appropriation vetoed by Governor Alfred Tuesday after Senate and House approval. It notes land purchases in Glass Mountains near Big Bend Park, and reports on Sul Ross State College summer enrollment, Alpine housing demand, and local social visits including musicians leasing the Dude Ranch for a summer music colony.
