Residents and relatives from Fort Worth San Antonio and Alpine gathered this week for visits and stays on local ranches and in towns. Notables include Senator Berkeley Alpine speeches and July fourth picnic plans at Ft Pena with guests from El Paso Balmothea and Beau mont.
Elizabeth Ann Cartledge celebrated her sixth birthday with a party Monday afternoon. Guests included Harold, Ray and Francis Keller, Fred Dumás Jr, Billie Babb, Robert Jr., and Elizabeth Ann Cartledge. Bruce Williamson of San Antonio is visiting the Cartledge home. Local residents and visitors are noted, with travel to Castolon peak and various trips to Alpine, Dallas, and other points.
Women suffer functional pains at times and Cardus is offered as relief. Mrs. Cole Young of Leesville Louisiana says Cardul helped her become regular and eased pain, quieting nerves and improving health. If Cardul does not help, consult a physician.
Paul Pierce, a June graduate and former Sul Ross standout, returns to the area to take math courses while accepting an assistant coach and instructor position at Fabens High School. He starred in football and coached the freshman basketball team last spring.
Chevrolet dealers reported the greatest three months in company history with 129,816 new cars and trucks sold in May. W. E. Holler said May sales set a record surpassing 1928’s high, while April, March, and May combined nearly topped the top point. Total sales from Jan 1 to May 31 reached 515,634, and used car sales rose to 229,225, shrinking dealer inventories and boosting June outlook.
