Lamar Tech Geology Field Class at Sul Ross Ranch
Thirteen Lamar Tech geology majors from Beaumont are housed in Hancock Hall at Sul Ross State College while conducting field work in the Big Bend Davis Mountains area. They study under H. E. Eveland and will stay until July 12 visiting Solitario Van Horn Mitre Peak Woodward Ranch and areas south of Marathon.

Seymour Attends National Defense Conference in Washington
Professor Raymond B. Seymour of Sul Ross State College attended a National Defense Executive Reserve Conference in Washington May 23 24 1961. He met with Secretary of Commerce Luther Hodges and other leaders and was named a BDSA Reservist connected with the Chemical Division to address chemical industry issues.

Graduate Returns After Army Duty at Sul Ross
Pfc. Paul Feist Jr. of San Angelo has returned to Sul Ross to pursue a master’s degree after Army discharge this month. A former Sul Ross Lobo baseball star, he attended the Army Information School in New York and trained at Fort Ord. After graduation he served as assistant editor of the Beaumont News at William Beaumont General Hospital in El Paso, where he also received a Letter of Appreciation for public relations and information work.

Mrs An nie Sharp Dies In Sonora Texas
Funeral services for Mrs An nie Sharp 79 were held in Sonora Texas on May 25 1961. She managed the Sul Ross cafeteria for years and was mother of Col Lavelle Lee Sharp drum major of the Sul Ross Lobo Band. Survived by four sons H C Jack Sharp Col Sharp Walter E Sharp and Jack H Sharp and one daughter Mrs George Cardwell. Texas has more than 60 000 miles of highways now.
