Corkins Elected President of Alpine Country Club
Thad Corkins was elected president by the newly chosen directors at the Alpine Country Club annual meeting held last Saturday night. Kenneth Stucke was named vice-president, Mrs. Charles Boreing treasurer, and Mrs. D. D. Thomas secretary. A barbecue supper preceded the meeting.

Jose Martinez Dies in Alpine
Jose Martinez 52, lifelong Alpine resident, died unexpectedly Monday morning at home. Funeral held 4 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Peace Church with burial in Alpine Cemetery. Survived by daughter Belig Martinez, son Charles Martinez, sisters Mrs. Frank Garcia and Louisa Martinez, brother Lee Martinez, and four grandchildren.
