In Dallas on June 28 a temporary injunction barred A Brown Davis and the Senta Fe Land Tithe and Trust of Dallas from further sale or offers of sale of oil properties in Brewster County. Judge Sarah T Hughes granted the order, marking the trust’s dissolution after Brown’s notice of appeal to the Fifth Court of Civil Appeals. The suit, led by Attorney General William McCraw and the Secretary of State securities division, cites state securities law violations. Aged Man Dies of Heart Attack Near Alpine Ranch

W. F. Taylor, 79, died suddenly of a heart attack at the C. B Davidson ranch north of Alpine midday Wednesday. He had been in good health earlier and finished a normal noon meal when the fatal attack occurred as he prepared to return to town.

Scientists To Study Early Man In Big Bend This Summer

Scientists will study the history of early man in the Big Bend area this summer. They will excavate sites within miles of Alpine, locating relics at depths of seven to 38 feet. Dr. Albertton and Dr. Bryan will coordinate with archaeologists to align deposits with natural exposures and regional geology to determine the deposits' age. The region features broad basins and isolated mountains with basins draining to the Rio Grande or enclosed. It is anticipated that many field seasons will be required.
