New Test Well Spudded in Brewster County Area
A new test well was spudded in Brewster County in the Green Valley section about 60 miles south of Alpine on the Wilson ranch. Anti TB Drive To Be Launched In West Texas
Henry T Fletcher and Dr J G Porter spoke in Marfa with county agents on a proposed tuberculosis eradication program for West and Northwest Texas. County agents from Brewster Presidio Reeves and Peeose counties plus about twenty ranchers agreed to cooperate, providing cattle for testing. The plan calls for three to five veterinarians per county and ranchers to submit bulls dairy cattle and ten percent of range cows for tests with a 72 hour interval before reading. Reactors would be paid by the government up to 30 dollars for commercial cattle and up to 5000 for registered cattle, though no reactors are expected in the area. Tests and aging fees are to be covered. certificates will accompany shipments once the region is declared free.

Aged Woman Jennie Sawyer Dies in Alpine Home
Mrs. Jennie Sawyer aged 78 died suddenly at her daughter Mrs. C. G. Morrison’s home here last Saturday morning after a period bedridden from a paralytic stroke. Born in Tennessee, she moved to Texas, lived with her daughter in Alpine for seven years, and funeral services were held in Beaumont after the body was shipped there.
