Wind Power Lights Fort Davis Farm On Two Acres
Fort Davis resident Harry Jarrett has a six volt wind powered electric plant made from an old car generator and second hand batteries. The device provides home lighting and runs storage batteries but is not sufficient for irons or heavy appliances. Mrs. D. H. Joiner reported seeing wind mills on farms in South Texas. Jarrett also terraced his Carmack add farm, the county’s only known terraced field, making the two acre property more attractive and productive. Clarence Bagjcock, Lenore Jones, Hudnel Jones, and Bob Miles are Fort Davis graduates at Marfa High School this spring.
