Alpine Man Bitten on Face by Coyote

Fire Rips Highland House In Morning Blaze
About 1:30 yesterday morning a two story apartment building owned by Mr. and Mrs. E A Chaffin near Central ward school was gutted by fire. Estimated damage was around 5000 dollars with partial insurance coverage. volunteer firefighters fought the blaze for hours and saved some furniture on the ground floor.

Death of J B Doddridge noted in Alpine area
News reached Alpine this week of the Portland Oregon death last Thursday of J B Doddridge a longtime resident who lived near Jim P Wi Valley ranch and in the south part of the county. He had served as president of Green Valley Oil Company which drilled tests in the county.
