What Has Happened To The Big Bend Museum
Clifford B. Casey explains the Big Bend Memorial Museum in Alpine is closed and its exhibits stored in the old bowling alley building. He traces the breakdown of donor trust and a 1965 legislative appropriation to remodel the museum into classrooms, noting political and administrative missteps. The piece urges revival of the museum and support for local historical work.
