Alpine plans to lay 27 108 feet of 9 inch water pipe at under 13 000 total cost after approval by the Texas Surplus Property Agency. Mayor W E Lockhart says the improved mains between San Felipe Springs and Laughlin AFB will meet city needs, aid state water approval, and repay in cost savings. Bids for rigging and hauling will be opened at City Hall.

Craig Adams led McCamey with 16 points while Wallace Peters and Fim Bowden each had 13 for Alpine and Pete Salzado added 9 for Alpine. The Bucks dropped to fourth in District 44A. Alpine earned a district championship with Elena Hernandez scoring 18 despite a bruised hand.

Hale Rites Set Today for Mrs Hale in Odessa
Funeral services for Mrs. Georgia Benson Hale will be at 4 pm in the First Baptist Church with Rev. R E Streetman officiating. Burial in Elm Grove Cemetery. Mrs Hale died Tuesday in Ector County Hospital Odessa after a long illness. She was born February 19 1906 in Archer County and lived in Alpine Brewster County Fort Worth and Odessa. She is survived by her husband Bill Hale a son and her mother Mrs G M Benson of Alpine along with two brothers and a sister.

Leo Fierbert Kidd, 36, driver of a 1959 Plymouth station wagon, faces a sanity hearing in county court after a high speed Alpine chase with officers. Two passengers, William Twiford and Jimmy Myers, will be sent to Caldwell County on charges. Twiford wounded. doctors say not serious. The chase involved Texas Ranger Hill and Officer Sonsson, culminating near the Lobo Drive-In and Alpine High School.

Bill EB. Scott, owner of the Odessa Health Studios, pleaded to killing four buffalo, antelope, and two deer in Jeff Davis and Presidio Counties. The case was solved by Capt Henry Burkett and wardens from Alpine Fort Davis and Fort Stockton. The first offense occurred last August. animals were left on ranches or Scott was brought to Brewster County Memorial Hospital for a checkup and released.
