Mrs M G onagill rests all morning in a Houston hospital after a heart attack. Funeral services were held at the Marathon Methodist Church with Rev Mayo Cleveland and Jim Reeves assisting. Pallbearers included C C Buckner Tom Henderson Louie Granger Tom Yarbro Travis Roberts and Jack Todd. Maggie Bea Word born Sept 16 1883 in Decatur Texas married John Alexander McGonagill in 1908. They lived in Clint Alpine and Brewster County before settling in Alpine 1926 29. Survived by husband son Eldon daughter Lida Belle Worthington and two grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers listed. Also noted was Kathryn Stucke sending 1279 25 to Teacher Retirement System for Alpine teachers.

He will report to the city secretary at a salary of 300 dollars per month and receive city employee benefits including hospital insurance, special water rates, and free sewer and garbage disposal at his residence.
