Dean's store promotes goods. residents travel to Fort Worth, Sanderson, Terlingua, and Marfa. Ford cars, agents, and sales prominently featured. community events, church benefit play, and a Woodmen Circle delegate selected. various locals move, trade, or seek services in Brewster County and Alpine.
A mass meeting here Monday adopted strong resolutions opposing the creation of a new county from the eastern part of Brewster County. Facts and figures warning of a public calamity were sent to Austin. Judge Turney spoke vigorously, offering pointers to defeat the movement. Judge W. Van Sickle chaired. A telegram from J. D. Jackson at Austin reported that M. M. McFarland would oppose the bill if introduced in the house.

Brewster County books report 447 poll tax receipts issued this year, a drop from last year. Precinct tallies show 144 in No 1, 94 in No 3, and 172 in No 4, with eleven mutilated receipts deducted to total 447.
The New Theatrical Company led by Mr. Oscar Graham played Alpine on Friday and Saturday nights. This marked their first appearance in Alpine and they drew a cordial reception. The Prodigal Son opened the engagement and The Stumbling Block closed the run.
Prompt payment of life insurance polices on the late Paul J. Vogt is noted. Payments were made within twenty five days after his death by Knights of Pythias and Herman Sons fraternal orders. A J Edwards left for San Angelo and other eastern towns to promote Texas Nursery Company and will return in about three weeks. He will visit family in Fort Worth. Edwards has acquired the Alpine natatorium property, plans fruit trees, and will restore it as a bathing resort, long neglected the last two years.

Honor roll listings show Mabel Newton 97 98 in various subjects, Harbart Anderson and Vivian Weaver noted in History and Latin, with several 98s and 100s. Public notice follows: Sheriff sale of Brewster County real estate in Alpine, W. E. Pruett property, to be sold March 2, 1915, at the courthouse for cash under Texas Underwriters Company judgment.
The partnership between Mrs. R. E. C. Dougherty and Miss Fannie Daugherty is dissolved by mutual consent as Miss Fannie retires from Alpine Millinery Store. Mrs. R. E. C. Dougherty assumes payment of all debts and will continue the business and collect all outstanding accounts. Advt 3w Jan 21, 1915.
The Presbyterian Church holds Sunday morning worship at 1 a.m. and evening service at 7:15 p.m. Sunday school meets every Sunday at 10 a.m. Rev. W. B. Bloys serves as pastor. Services are on the second and fourth Sundays each month.
