Fire Scare At Miles Residence After Roof Blaze
On December 26 Buster W C Miles spotted smoke from the roof of his living quarters behind the service station. The ceiling and roof were on fire before many could arrive, a small hole burned, and the residence had burned previously last spring. The blaze likely started from a hot stove pipe as a 2x4 caught heat near a ventilator. Mrs Wilson quickly raised the alarm and help arrived to extinguish the fire. Miles narrowly escaped a second major blaze.
