Alpine School Board Sets Aug. 1 1972 Target for New Building
At a special meeting on Tuesday night December 15 the Alpine School board endorsed completing a new high school by August 1 1972. The building committee Thad Corkins and Jack Williams cited four concepts including additions to Central Elementary a new senior high school and remodeling to create a junior high plus converting Centennial School to a vocational facility. The plan projects significant cost increases requiring a minimum 25 percent rise in the district’s evaluated value and possible further selective raises to fund the full program.
