Treasured Volume: Former Wife of Noted Author Publishes

The former Mrs. Raht, now Mrs. Arda Talbot Allen, author of Mise Ella of the Deep South Texas, writes of her mother Mrs Jen Talbot. The book, off Navjon press in San Antonio, portrays life in the Matagorda country a century ago with plantation parlor scenes and gracious living. Mrs. Allen, who died recently, was praised as a completely feminine, capable lady who rode, shot, and managed a home with ease. She held advanced degrees and has taught at Trinity University and other institutions. Reviewers predict Mise Ella will become a treasured Texas volume.
