Deer hunting season closes with large Texas bucks dominate talk
Ranchers report a banner hunting year across the Big Bend with many deer taken. Ina Anderson’s ranch yielded five bucks and her granddaughter Annie Louise harvested a flagtail deer. Rae Mc Reynolds of Sierra Blanca won the contest with 106 scoring points on Hal Peck ranch. Hunters from Sul Ross and Ft Worth areas frequent Marfa and Sierra Blanca as crowds fill the landscape for rifle practice and show plans in Odessa and Alpine.
