Three Great Powers Must Combine For Stable World
Alexander Kerensky, former Russian premier, spoke to hundreds at Pine auditorium about a new international order led by three powers. He argued Russia Britain and the United States share security aims, with Russia continental, Britain maritime, and the U.S. both. He warned against Russia slipping back to pre 1930 conditions and praised the Moscow conference as advancing Russia’s frontiers for world stability. Alpine FFA Boys Buy Carload Wheat Under Subsidy
Alpine FFA boys received a carload of 60,000 pounds of cracked wheat bought cooperatively through the Alpine chapter. The shipment, worth about $900 less than regular price, supports feeding operations and was delivered to owners after unloading Monday. Pioneer Boot Maker of West Texas Dies After Illness
John Ernst, 67, famed boot maker known across West Texas, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. Krummenacker in North Alpine after a long illness. A native of Illinois, he had worked in Alpine and other Texas towns, was unmarried, and is survived by two half brothers and a half sister in Kansas City. Funeral services were held at the Krummenacker home with Rev. Francis Juaniz officiating. interment at Elm Grove cemetery.

Brewster County Ranch Owner Dies In Houston
James McKay Lykes Sr 63 chairman of Lykes Brothers Steamship Co died in Houston after a long illness. Known as the Captain Dollar of Texas, he influenced shipping while holding large interests in cotton banking and ranching. The family bought the 365000 acre O2 ranch spanning Brewster and Presidio counties about three years ago.

Deer Season Ends in Area Tuesday
The blacktail deer season closed Tuesday with Capt. Ray Williams noting more deer per man were killed than in recent years. Most bucks were small and the Big Bend area saw unusually high total despite few ranches open. Brewster and Jeff Davis counties reported limited hunting but solid harvests. flagtail deer season runs to Dec 15 and quail season ends Dec.

Public air base review and graduation exercises announced
The public is invited to attend an aerial review and commencement exercises at the pilot school tomorrow. The program begins at 9 a.m. with graduation ceremonies at the post theatre. Passes are not required for admission.
Snow Falls in the Davis Mountains and Town
Snow began Friday night and lasted through Saturday. McDonald Observatory recorded 4.6 inches with similar totals in town and at the Merrill ranch. Temperatures dropped to the low 30s, with 34 Sunday, 32 Monday, and 29 Tuesday. Precipitation was about one half inch at the observatory and one third inch at Merrill ranch.
