New Paved Road to River Opens Near Marathon by Sept
A Texas Highway Dept project, Ranch to Market 2627, will open the paved 78 mile route to the Rio Grande at Heath Canyon by mid September. Built by H B Zachry Co, the road saves building a costly bridge and links U S 385 to ranch country and the Black Gap Game Preserve, aiding ore trucks and local employment.
