Alpine junior softball season ends in tight Alps win

The Alps clinched the Junior Softball League title with an 8 to 7 victory over the Panthers in a ten inning game. Manuel Sotelo hit a bases loaded homer and Joe Ramirez scored on an error to seal the win for the undefeated Alps. The league, sponsored by Lions Rotary and Boy Scouts, began in June and wrapped a summer season under Al Hand.

Mrs Martha A White 91 Dies At Daughter’s Home

Mrs Martha Angeline White aged 91 died Monday night at her daughter Mrs J Carter’s home in West Alpine after a long illness. Born November 24 1853 in Longtown Mississippi she lived in Grand Falls Center Three Rivers then Mississippi before returning here with her daughter. The body was shipped to Longtown for burial with her son and four other children surviving.

Alpine barbecu e honors Thomason and generals

Kermit Capitalizes On Alpine Errors To Beat Cats 6-4

Alpine committed seven errors allowing Kermit to score four runs, securing a 6-4 victory. Cats produced 13 hits off Davis but failed to string them together, while Big Joe Alamadova went 3 for 4 with a double. Liones pitched five hits against the Cats, including a double and a three-base hit.
