All Men 0 45-65 Warned to Report Next Monday
Brewster county announces plans for the 45 to 65 year age group registration next Monday. Men who turned 48 by Feb 16 1942 and who have not yet registered must report by 7 am at their home address. Registrants will be numbered and cards identical to earlier registrations. Local boards will arrange accessible sites and registrars to avoid delays. Some registrants at conventions may register April 24 or 25 to prevent congestion.

Scout Training Awards Issued at Alpine Meeting
About 30 Alpine men attended a Boy Scout training course at the junior high school Monday evening led by Frederik B. Isely chairman of the Big Bend district. The program covered fundamentals of scouting with discussions by Isely J Epperson and J Strother Moore and included a 25 minute sound technicolor film The Scout Trail to Citizenship. Each attendee received a training certificate and Isely presented a memory test demonstration beforehand. Mr and Mrs C F Barger drove to San Antonio to pick up their daughter Mrs J W Mosley and her La Marque granddaughter for a visit in Alpine.

2 Million Dollar Upgrade Planned for Military Highway 90
Fort Stockton business man Mack Sawyer 45 was killed in a late Wednesday crash on U S Highway 67 ten miles east of Alpine. Sawyer, brother of Mrs. C G Morrison, died after his car left the road, struck a wire fence and overturned. He had been in charge of Morrison & Co. stores in Hobbs and Fort Stockton and was formerly a resident of Alpine.

Alpine Druggists Ship First Batch of Empty Tubes
Alpine Druggists made the first shipment of empty toothpaste and shaving cream tubes last week. The cargo, totaling about 332 Ibs, was sent to McKesson & Robbins in El Paso. The two Alpine drug stores collected the tubes as part of a nationwide drive required by a government order.

Healthful Living Theme at April PTA Meeting
