A Dutch salvage cooperative aims to recover 20 million dollars in gold from the German vessel Renate Leonhardt sunk in 1917. Piet Visser, 51, says a concession was won in 1939 and work resumes after weather. the wreck sits 70 feet deep under clay and mud off WIJDE WORMER. An 86 foot iron workshop will be placed over the site this summer to enable round the clock divers.

Alexander Kirkpatrick aged 91 who lived as a hermit by the Red River for nearly four decades has left the woods. He now sleeps in a Pottsboro pool hall display window after years of self sufficiency and simple living. He traveled only for fishing gear and maintains contentment with minimal needs.
