The Beta Jet chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma met April 12 in the new San derson Junior High. Members came from Marfa Fort Davis Alpine Marathon and Sanderson. A highlight was June Dyke's human resource file project listing skilled speakers for diverse groups. The meeting closed with hostesses and a planned May 3 banquet at Sul Ross Faculty lounge.

The Office of Economic Opportunity approved a 101,094 dollar grant to the Big Bend Community Action Committee Inc in Marfa. The funds cover Brewster Jeff Davis and Presidio counties for 12 months and finance a two month summer head start for 207 preschool children along with neighborhood service centers special summer programs and administration.
