Longtime Alpine leader John Gillett dies at 75
John W. Gillett 75, Alpine business and civic figure, died April 4 in Houston after a long illness. Funeral held April 7 at St. James Episcopal Church with Rev. Evan Davies officiating. Burial in Elm Grove Cemetery. he had served as Alpine mayor and led Alpine Lumber Co. Survived by Grace Gillett and three sisters and a brother.

Sul Ross Plans Bond Sale For Jackson Field Improvements

Eligibility limits: one person 3100. two 3600. three 3900. four 4200. Rents range 31 to 61 dollars monthly, including all utilities except electricity. units will be unfurnished except for refrigerators and stoves.
