Auditorium Gets Seats at Sul Ross Library

Gilmer Chosen To Fill Justice of the Peace Post
Alston Gilmer, young Brewster county abstractor, was chosen by commissioners to fill the unexpired term of Judge W. H. Ragin as justice of the peace. He presided Tuesday over a disturbance case, fining two Mexicans five dollars and costs. Gilmer was chosen from eight applicants and will serve until the next regular selection, after which he must be on the ticket. He has worked in the Vapatract business for two years.

Fire Destroys Kesey Mansion at Fort Davis

Crazed Mexican Robbery Attempt Ends in Jail
Two Mexican men, reportedly intoxicated by marihuana cigarettes, attempted to rob Mrs. Walter Garnett's store in broad daylight. Mrs. Garnett confronted them, locking the entrance and summoning help.
