El Paso captured the district meet as about 450 out of town visitors filled Alpine for the two day event April 17 and 18. Literary preliminaries started Friday, with declamation finals Friday evening in the new auditorium. All literary events were completed by noon Saturday. Tennis and volleyball finals were also held Saturday morning, and track events took place at Jon Jackson Field Saturday noon with a large crowd in attendance.
