Alpine High School VocaI Ag team earns second place with a total score of 1276 led by Terry McMillan first high in sheep with 144 of 150. Mike Surratt places fifth in cattle and second in team standings with 427 points. Mike Gibson earns fourth high in sheep and third overall with 419 points. Richard Powell sponsors the Alpine FFA team.

Cancer Drive Under Way In Brewster County
April marks Cancer Control Month as the annual fund raising drive continues in Brewster County. Posters in Alpine display pleas to give to the American Cancer Society and to fight cancer with a check up. Texas funds allocations show 38 seconds for research and 11 cents for increased national research, totaling 1.11 per dollar.
