Texas Education Agency notified Alpine Public Schools of a fund assignment set at 17243 dollars. Last year the figure was 17883 dollars. Deductions authorized by the agency will reduce the amount to about 912745 dollars for schools in the Foundation School Fund Program.
Alpine Public Schools show enrollment of 1,070 with one well equipped shop two cafeterias and 12 buildings on about 50 acres. The inspection by A D Alley of Texas Surplus Property Agency found no nonconformance and rated participation as excellent with possible increases in activity noted.

He is son of Mr and Mrs Thomas E Koch of San Antonio He has served as a laboratory assistant and is president of the Sul Ross Chemists Club. He will receive his BS this May and plans to attend Sul Ross summer session for a qualitative organic analysis course before reporting for work on July 17.
Army Specialist Shirley R. Killion, 24, Alpine, is part of the 82nd Artillery unit at McGregor Missile Range New Mexico undergoing refresher missile firing training. He entered the Army in 1959 and is a 1955 Alpine High School graduate. he will return to Vicenza Italy in mid April.
