Col William E Easterwood national vice commander of the American Legion will visit Alpine next Tuesday evening as guest of the local Legion post. A Pecos County jury convicted 19 year old Jimmy Farmer of Brookston Texas for the Feb 26 slaying of Sheriff Lee Sproul of Jeff Davis County and sentenced him to seven years. Local committees from Lions Rotary and women’s clubs were appointed to lead the annual cleanup campaign next Monday.
