Sul Ross college trackmen and the Texas College of Mines of El Paso will clash in a dual meet on Jackson Field April 10 led by Sul Ross coach W H Jack Perryman. Mines coach Clyde B Wafer cites a 9.8 second 100 yard dash contender matching Sul Ross star Don Bingham Monahans with Bingham the Fort Worth meet winner.

County Judge Felix P. McGaughy announces his bid for a second term after a wartime service in the military police and a first term won without opposition in 1946. He pledges to continue work for better roads and schools and asks Brewster County residents for their vote in the July primary. He also urges buying U S Savings Bonds.
