Guy Lockwood leads a proposed Alliance train excursion to Hyannis for Home Day. Over fifty locals pledge to join with plans for a return trip next Thursday night. Wife Murderer Still At Large In Eastern Town Search
A dawn search of houses in the eastern colored quarter found no trace of the fugitive murderer. Tracks leading east past the fair grounds were found but then lost. Opium seizures and an extra cracked pipe were uncovered at the couple’s home. Eyewitnesses reported five shots from a small revolver followed by five heavy shots as Officer Ben Jordan fired in defense. Jordan, wounded, remains in hospital while investigators pursue clues and identify a white man seen fleeing.
