J. B. Miller auctioneer and Collins Morrison advertise saddles with stock details. Dr. Allen the dentist and Dr. Bellwood attend John Martin who broke a limb after a horse incident. E E Ford arrived from Omaha to market cattle. A new telephone line speeds medical calls to Brennan's ranch.
Mrs. John O'Keefe was taken ill with pneumonia Sunday morning and for two days her life was despaired of. She is improving and thought to be out of danger at this writing.
The city council will place the water system on a meter basis and have Attorney Simonson draft an ordinance. A flat rate of twenty cents per thousand gallons is proposed. Meter use will not be compulsory now, but reductions will make metering advantageous for all.
The marriage took place Wednesday morning November 12 1902 at Holy Rosary Church with a high mass ceremony. The reception followed at the Business Men's club with about 100 guests. The couple will reside next door to the Elmore home after a short wedding trip to Denver and Kansas City.
Judge Westover held a special term in the city, confirming several foreclosure sales and granting three divorces to Emma Baker, Emma Cockrell, and Mabel Edgar. Alliance leads in divorces among towns of its size, with the Miller and Wildy property sale to be confirmed soon for possession.
Mrs E A Hall leaves for Denver and Greeley to visit relatives while J P Beanfon returns from Chicago and Omaha. Maccabees host a special meeting. Baptist youths plan a candy pull and program. Abington visitor Jeff Bellwood arrives for his son Dr W S Bellwood. Business Men's club held first ball. Mrs B F Gilman entertained. US land officials’ offices renovated. Attorney R C Noleman in Harrison and Sidney courts. Box social set for Eagle hall with two lunches. Family returns from east. Mr and Mrs Back head to California. Dr W S Ballwood’s condition worsened after prior injury but now improving.
A wedding at St John’s Lutheran church near Hemingford unites Peter B Styve and Clara Moe. Rev Garness officiates as guests celebrate with a dinner, music and games. Clara Moe, a former Luther academy student and teacher, and Styve, son of a Minnesota farmer, plan to reside in Albert Lea.
An assortment of fabric and neckties advertised at cost by Norton's and other shops. A sale of livestock including about 1100 ewes and 600 lambs noted along with coal and harness stock. A Baptist church candy pull is planned for Thursday evening November 27 inviting youths and congregants to join. Deputy U S marshal Charles W. Pearsall visited to subpoena witnesses in the Miller Leith Tiernan case listing several local names as to involved parties and witnesses.
