Mrs Mary J Howland Dies at Home in Alliance
Mrs Mary J Howland a southwest Alliance resident died at her son S Sunday forenoon after long illness. The funeral was held from the family residence Monday afternoon with Rev Ray of the M E church officiating. She is survived by her son S W Holt of Alliance and a brother and sister Mrs F J Bliss of Barville Illinois and Mrs Ole Gilbert of Hay Springs. She joined the M E church October 30 1901 and was remembered as a faithful Christian mother and friend.

Faithful husband and father dies after life altering accident
The second son of Mr and Mrs H C Richards born April 7, 136g showed deep religious devotion since youth. He spoke of readiness before the fatal November 3 accident and on November 4 his funeral was held at the family home South Alliance. A large procession and many tributes marked the farewell to a tender, warm friend and devoted husband.
