Armistice Day Observed in Alliance With Memorial Service
Armistice day was observed as a holiday in Alliance with the American Legion in charge of activities. Memorial services were held at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church at 10 o'clock with Rev. Andrew Dorige presiding. Legion members in uniforms marched from the city hall to the church, and an evening program at the Imperial theater included a moving picture program and a dance at the roor garden. The feature film The Great Redeemer starred House Petrore. a soldier comedy followed. A two-minute silent meditation occurred at noon, with mixed observance citywide. Local Legion plans aim for a larger community observance next year.

Funeral services for Syrus Andrew Miller a Box Butte County pioneer and Alliance merchant were held at 2 30 this afternoon at the Christian church with Rev Stephen J Epler in charge Interment was in Greenwood cemetery He was born May 27 1865 in Knoxville Iowa died November 9 1921 at his Alliance home aged 56 years 5 months and 12 days He came to Dawson County Nebraska in 1880 and Box Butte County in 1887 He married Mary Simpson on September 9 1859 He had operated a shoe store in Alliance for eleven years last year and a half he could not work and spent winter in Texas He died early Wednesday morning and is survived by his wife his father D C Miller of Knoxville and other relatives and many friends

Mother Rosalie of St Josephs hospital in Kapereee is reported dying this noon with physicians giving no hope of recovery. She fell ill late Wednesday night and has been sinking. the death is hourly expected. The Francescan sisters serve under the Prns Rian pection. Mr and Mrs W B Barnett motored to Bayard to visit friends.

Matrimonial Bureau Romance Ends in Divorce Trial
Mrs. Lavinia Myers a 57 year old Lincoln woman testified in district court before Judge W M Morning that she married four times and her Lincoln marriage to James V Myers on September 21 1920 was the result of a matrimonial agency romance. She said her first husband died and she later divorced two others and now seeks divorce from Myers. Myers has been divorced once before. The judge took the case under advisement as Mrs Myers described only a dust cap and a pair of overshoes as gifts and said Myers left her five months after marriage and is now in Alliance.
