The seniors received their caps on Tuesday. The caps are silver with the lettering A H S 66 in red, symbolizing class colors. The class pins are expected to arrive next week. Miss Helen Phillips returned from Omaha, Earl Mallory back after typhoid, Miss Blanche McDonald left for Crawford to teach nearby. The Debating Club meets tomorrow afternoon for its first debate of the term on government officers riding free transportation.
A destitute man who used the name George Beil died of consumption at the Alliance public alms house. Lacking funds his embalmed corpse was laid to rest in the city cemetery after a lonely life, leaving a mother and sister to grieve.
Leonard Sampy of Hemingford reports raising about 9000 pounds of bromos grass seed this year along with hay on about seventy five acres seeded. He plans to seed a large acreage yearly and believes bromos will spread across western Nebraska. County growers like R Harris of Alliance praise the crop and intend to plant more next spring.

W. W. Norton traded the brick block occupied by Franklin Bros. on Box Butte avenue with adjoining business land and several residences for 3,240 acres of ranch land owned by 8 J. Wilson south of Alliance. Wilson also owns a ranch in Sheridan county and will move there next spring. This was quite an extensive deal.
Mrs. Nellie Slade left Tuesday morning for Los Angeles after spending several months with her parents Mr. and Mrs. 5. M. Smyser. She had planned to stay until February but altered her plans during the recent cold snap.
The Friday night presentation at the house showcased Theodore Lorch in a strong performance with wide range, delivering a masterful portrayal of the lead. Support from the company lagged, yet Lorch carried the drama as the central force in the production.
