Judge Westover held a short session and sentenced Don Burbach and John Schriner to one year in the penitentiary after they pled guilty to stealing grips from the depot platform and pilfering from box cars. County Attorney Burton credited for swift action and possible deportation inquiry due to the men's noncitizen status. They were taken to the penitentiary and the judge left for Rushville.
S W Holt proprietor of the shooting gallery on Box Butte avenue was accidentally shot Tuesday night while making the bed in his residence west of the railway shops. His arm struck a rifle on a stand, the hammer released and the bullet wounded his right arm below the elbow. He was treated in the office of Dr Copsey.
The report notes Mr. Holt suffers considerable pain from an injury yet there is little fear of serious outcomes.
