She joined him for an extended visit in Box Butte county.
Joan T. Wiker returned last Thursday from Omaha at the request of W M Robinson manager of Orkin Brothers piano business. Robinson told Herald a representative he was highly pleased with the volume of business transacted from the Alliance store.
Officials in New York announced the names of the American team chosen to meet the winner of the Franco-German Davis Cup contest. The UPI report dated June 25 notes selection decisions and the anticipated matchup details.

Mrs Low Skala of Nving on a Kiaid homestead about sixteen miles southeast of Alliance attempted to kill herself Monday by drinking an ounce of carbolic acid. Despondent over ill health she was treated with an emetic and a physician after three hours of care she survived though burned and scarred.
Margaret Triplett Mrs A J Dwyer and two daughters depart Monday for an extended trip through Illinois and Iowa. They visit Chicago then Dubuque where Mrs Dwyer sees Sister Mary Auberta. Stops include Burlington and Lincoln, delaying return until late July.
Denver hosts the thirty first North American Gymnastic Union Olympiad at Lake Skeile Stadium. Three thousand men and 1 000 women turners join 1 000 elderly participants and 8 000 Denver schoolchildren in a week of gymnastic events and a grand saengerfest. John Leath a former Box Butte and Wiecox county superintendent aged 67 died by self inflicted gunshot at his ranch after a prior accident left him with a fractured arm. He had moved to Alliance earlier that day and died in his room. a housekeeper and bystanders found him after two additional shots. He left a wife a daughter two stepdaughters and several siblings. Funeral set for Thursday at 2 30 PM with services conducted by the church and no inquest.

Buffalo June 25 The blast at the Husted Milling Company ruined the plant killing six and injuring sixty seven with many bodies still feared in the rubble. Police expect higher fatality toll as search continues and insurers note the $1 000 coverage.
